About Emily Vedaa

Emily is in year two of the part-time Master of International Management experience. She brings a great amount of world travel and professional experience to the program. After two years of living in Taiwan, Emily returned to her native Portland to start the MIM in 2010. Emily currently works in global logistics for a Portland-based footwear company and is passionate about the burgeoning outdoor industry in the Pacific Northwest. Emily has pursued the supply and logistics specialization of the MIM, and is currently studying Mandarin Chinese.

Welcome to the Year of the Dragon!

As today is the beginning of the Lunar New Year, all of us at the MIM want to wish all of our cyber-followers a happy and prosperous Year of the Dragon!

As a course in global leadership, Portland State MIM students have the opportunity to study not only Japanese or Chinese language, but we also have the opportunity to be immersed in East Asian culture in many ways.  To celebrate, both the Chinese and Japanese language learners will be singing traditional songs for our friends and families! Embarking on a New Career Path: The Career Changer Seminar

One of the many benefits of enrolling in Portland State University’s graduate business school is the ever-evolving career development efforts of Portland State University’s Career Center and the career development group, provides tools for students embarking on new careers. The month of January is full of opportunities designed specifically for job seekers in the Graduate Business School.

A recent seminar in the growing series focused on strategies for changing one’s career path, perhaps to a new industry, or a new job function within one’s current industry: the Career Changer Seminar. The seminar was a unique opportunity for part-time, mid-career graduate students from all SBA programs to share common experiences and learn about how to advance their careers in the direction they desired.
